OUR StORY
Claire and Jack first met at New York University in the fall of 2016, although they had previously crossed paths at Andover 2 years prior. On their first date, they wandered around the East Village before settling down on a stoop on 12th street. They shared a joint (sorry Moms) and talked for hours, connecting over their favorite artists and albums, looking at pictures of Jack’s dogs, and learning about each others backgrounds.
After a few more dates of a similar nature, Claire and Jack made it official and began their decade-long adventure together. They remained at each other’s sides through their college years filled with busy class schedules, hostessing gigs, innumerable hockey games, and too many Grateful Deads at Josie Wood's Bar. Summers consisted of trips to Maine and to Southampton where the two became more integrated into each others lives.
After graduating in 2019, Jack moved back home to Maine while Claire finished up her senior year at NYU. Though this would be the beginning of an almost four-year long period of long distance, Claire and Jack stayed the course, and enjoyed frequent visits (thanks to Jack’s father Matt, a lifelong pilot, for turning a 7+ hour drive into a 1 hour flight) before Jack eventually moved back to New York City in 2023.
While navigating the changes and challenges of emerging adulthood, Claire and Jack have found precious consistency and solid ground in each other. They have been laughing together the entire time. In April of 2026, Jack proposed to Claire on the first beautiful, sunny spring day in Central Park. Jack had been sleeping with the ring under his side of the bed since December.
When it came to the question of where they would get married, Jack’s family beach house in South Thomaston, known as Sunrise, was an easy choice. Claire and Jack are absolutely thrilled to get married and share this special place with their friends and family. They could not think of a better way to start this new chapter of life. Let’s party!!
